Operator Listing Readiness Checklist

A well-prepared business profile makes information easier to review, attribute and correct. This is a readiness guide for future public listing discussions—not a listing approval or verification badge.

Establish the correct business identity

Record the public-facing organization name, applicable legal or DBA name, public business website, operator contact channel, and cities or counties served. Confirm who is authorized to request corrections or make statements for the business.

  • Check whether each public URL and phone number is maintained by the organization.
  • Use a professional contact; never provide resident contact records.

Document housing information clearly

Prepare general property-level details that a potential visitor could independently confirm: a broad service area, written house rules, any publicly stated accessibility features, expectations for transportation and household participation, and a breakdown of advertised fees. Do not imply a guaranteed opening or specific eligibility outcome.

  • Request an up-to-date written fee schedule, deposit and refund terms for an eventual permitted publication.
  • Record when each business statement was checked and who supplied it.

Separate source claims from verification

A government-issued license for a residential treatment program, voluntary recovery-residence certification, and an operator's description of a home are different evidence categories. Check a credential directly with its issuing organization; do not call a sober living home DHCS-licensed unless the specific regulated service and facility are licensed.

  • Keep links to the original issuing authority and its relevant record.
  • Mark an unknown or unverified fact as unknown rather than creating an approval badge.

Protect publication rights and privacy

Only share business information you are authorized to publish. Do not upload a lease, resident list, case note, referral, insurance record, diagnosis, treatment history, private address or photo containing personally identifiable resident information. Site publication controls and provider-managed profiles are still under development.

Choose the appropriate next action

To challenge an existing public business listing, use the directory claim or correction pathway and identify the specific public field. To discuss future functionality or the early pilot, use the business-only pilot-interest form. Neither action constitutes immediate publication, affiliation or access to regulated software.
